Question: There are 3 switches downstairs, each corresponding to one of the light bulbs upstairs. How can you figure out which light switch goes to which light bulb by only making 1 trip upstairs?

I was thinking about the light switches. If you have 3 switches downstairs, have a time delay of 5 minutes between each switch. Switch 1, leave on 5 minutes, then shut off. Switch 2 on 5 minutes then shut off. Switch 3 on 5 minutes then off. Go upstairs and touch the bulb. If the bulb is cold. Then switch 1 would be the switch. If the bulb is warm then switch 2 would be the correct switch. If the bulb is hot, then switch 3 would be the correct switch.
