5 gallons and 3 gallons of water

Question: There is a 5 gallon and a 3 gallon box. You also have a hose with unlimited water. How are you gonna make the 5 gallon have 4 gallons using your items? (You do not know the exact measure measurements of a gallon)

Fill up the 3 gal and pour it into the 5 gal\nFill up the 3 gal again and pour it into the 5 gal until its full. You are now left with 1 gal in the 3 gal jug.\nPour out the 5 gal completely and pour the 1 gal of water left in the 3 gal jug into the now empty 5 gal jug. Fill the 3 gal one more time and empty it into the 5 gal creating only 4 galons of water.

Fill up the 5 gallon bottle and pour it into the 3 gallon bottle. Empty the 3 gallon bottle and pour the rest of the 5 gallon bottle into the 3 gallon bottle. Fill up the 5 gallon bottle again and pour into into the 3 gallon bottle. Now you have 4 gallons in the 5 gallon bottle.
