Question: There is a mad scientist that lives in a castle. One day you are walking near the scientist's castle. The scientist kidnaps you and locks you in the basement of her castle. You are walking through the hallway and see a guard standing next to three doors. Above each of the doors is a sign. The guard tells you all three signs tell the truth. The first sign says: This room is rigged to electrocute people who enter it. The second sign says: This room has no additional doors, no windows, and is empty, however, there is a light that can be turned on. The third sign says: Somewhere in this hallway is an open window. What should you do to escape?

Answer: The guard told you that all three signs tell the truth. If you entered the first room, you would die. If you entered the second room you could not escape, you would be in an empty room. There is no statement that says what is behind the third door. There could be anything from a death trap to an empty room, to a safe exit. Since you don't know what is behind the door, it is better not to open it. The third sign says there is an open window somewhere in the hallway. Look for the window. Since it is open, you can climb through it and escape.
