Logic Riddles

 

Question: A man taking the census walks up to the apartment of a mathematician and asks him if he has any children and how old they are. The mathematician says "I have three daughters and the product of their ages is 72." The man tells the mathematician that he needs more information, so the mathematician tells him "The sum of their ages is equal to our apartment number." The man still needs more information so the mathematician tells him "My oldest daughter has her own bed and the other two share bunk beds."

How old are his daughters?


Question: A rooster lays an egg at 6:00 AM. When does the farmer find it?

Question: A man is found dead in a phone booth in a pool of blood. The glass on either end of the phone booth is broken and the phone is hanging. Just outside of the phone booth is a bucket and a stick.

What happened?

Question: Alex was the strongest man in the world. He can lift up something that weighs 1000 kg easily. He can even pick up five women at once without any pain. But one day, there was a Weight Lifting Challenge Show. All the top 5 strongest man entered including Alex. The challenge is that they each have to lift up a really heavy object which weighs 1005 kg for five minutes. The winner is who didn’t drop it until it reached the time. If they all did it, the judges will decide to give first place to a person who can lift it up easily and stand still with no trouble looking. If Alex was the strongest man, he’ll probably come first. But he came second instead when the challenge was over. Why?

Question: There is a farmer who has three sons. Nearing his death, he asked his three sons to find two objects that can fill the room he's in. The one who can deliver will be chosen as his heir. So the oldest son goes to the market to get hay while the middle son go get leaves. The youngest son goes to a shop and buys two things that he put in his pocket. The oldest son's hay only fills half the room, the middle son's leaves fills 2/4 quarters of the room, while the youngest fills the room with his two objects.
