Dan Brown is an American Novelist and is one of the most read authors living today. All of his novels are treasure hunts that involve a series of riddles that must be solved in a day's time. All of his books are heavily based on codes, cryptology, and conspiracy theories as well. His most popular novels are focused on Robert Langdon, a professor at Harvard University: Angels and Demons (2000), The Da Vinci Code (2003), The Lost Symbol (2009), and Inferno (2013). In all of these novels he must follow secret societies and Christianity to save the day. Here are some of the great riddles from each of these popular novels:

• Angels and Demons

  From Santi's Earthly Tomb with Demons Hole,
  'Cross Rome the mystic elements unfold,
  The Path of Light is laid, the sacred test,
  Let angels guide you on your lofty quest.

  This riddle tells Professor Langdon to follow the Path to Illumination that each member of the Illuminati must follow. Along this path he will find all of the kidnapped cardinals and the bomb that is going to destroy the Vatican!

• The Da Vinci Code

  O, Draconian devil!

  This riddle is short but very important to the story. By rearranging the letters in this anagram you get Leonardo Da Vinci. He is the historic figure that becomes the primary source of clues for Robert throughout the story.

• The Lost Symbol

  This riddle is found on a pyramid Robert discovers in this story. When deciphered using something known as the 4 by 4 "Magic Square" it becomes:

  J E O V
  A S A N
  C T U S
  U N U S

  or jeova sanctus unus, which means "one true God".

• Inferno

  The truth can be glimpsed only through the eyes of death.

  The answer to this riddle ends up being a "death mask". This mask is the key to solving the main puzzle of the novel.
