Question: There are two ropes that both take exactly 1 hour to burn from end to end. You are unable to cut the rope. How can you burn the two ropes in a total of 45 minutes?

Answer: Start one of the ropes on fire from both ends and the other one from one end. After a half an hour one rope will be completely burnt and the other will be half burnt. At this point you light the final rope from the unlit side and it will take 15 minutes for the remaining half of the rope to burn, for a total of 45 minutes.

Question: Why does the second shape have an open block when the first shape does not?

Answer: The two triangles have different slopes so in the second shape the two triangles cause the shape to bulge out to account for the extra square unit.

Question: I used to fill rooms but now I'm a tower,
I can stay put or I can travel far.

What am I?

Hint: I can live on a sill,
I can be a tasty fruit.
If I get injured,

Answer: A computer. They used to be huge and desktops are now referred to as towers. They can be desktops (stay put) or laptops (travel far). The computer can run windows (sill) or it can be an Apple computer (fruit).

Question: You have a horrible disease but thankfully there is a medicine for it. Everyday you must take one pill called Batz and one pill called Scatz. On the very first day, you pour one Batz in your hand then you pour two Scatz in your hand by accident! These pills are identical and if you take too much or too little of either pill on any day you will die. You cannot get a refill or throw any pills away.

How can you still take the pills you have in your hand and live?

Answer: To do this you just have to get another Batz and cut all four pills in half taking a half from each pill. Do the same the next day and you will definitely get the right amount of each pill for the two days.
